Interfraternity Council
The Interfraternity Council is the governing body of all members from the recognized fraternities on campus. The IFC’s purpose is to promote unity, sustain and increase the internal strength and power of the Greek system at Washington College, as well as assisting with coordinating and regulating fraternal activities.
IFC provides information and encourage involvement in campus and community affairs, as well as uphold the values upon which the Fraternity community at Washington College was founded; scholarship, leadership, service and brotherhood. Membership is contingent upon initiation into one of the following recognized fraternities: Kappa Sigma or Phi Delta Theta.

Mission
Through advocacy, collaboration, and education the IFC seeks to ensure that fraternities can operate in environments that are conducive to their success.

Hazing Information
Hazing is prohibited per the College Honor Code, national fraternity/sorority headquarters policy, and Maryland state law. Consent to hazing is not an acceptable justification or legal defense.
Washington College seeks to promote a safe and secure environment where the rights and dignity of all community members are respected. New and initiated chapter members are provided with relevant hazing information and educational resources to eliminate its practice.
